About Me

Karen
I am so very thrilled to have this blog. I am a Long Island native. I grew up in Oyster Bay, A small fishing village on the North shore of Long Island where my mom still resides and I visit often. My trade is helping children overcome and succeed in there difficulties in learning so they have every opportunity to succeed in life to be able to have dreams. So much of my energy is devoted to them 10 months of the year. Whereby I enjoy my summers. I've ridden, trained and shown jumping horses since I was 5 years old. Where it is not my 2nd job anymore, I have taken the back burner and train and trail ride with my two- relaxing and enjoying nature. We have 2 dogs- Traci and Jolene- both rescues. We have 22 chickens who we enjoy there eggs, antics, personalities and manure for our gardens. They free range on our half acre as do our 5 Royal Palm turkeys. We also have 5 honey bee hives. We love our pollinators and the gift they return in the form of honey. We just keep trying to convince people to stop spraying the Roundup and pesticides for it is killing hives around the world. My spare time, I hike in the 7000 acres of woods with my puppies, I cross stitch, knit and quilt.
